Osmocheck-Urine Analysis Osmocheck-CRANLEA-FOR URINE ANALYSIS Osmocheck is a hand held Digital Refractometer calibrated from 0 to 1500mOsmols/kgH2O which equates to a specific gravity of 1.000 to 1.043 or a refractive index of 1.333 to 1.350. This relationship has been derived empirically from a selection of 70 different urine samples. Readings Early morning urine samples are recommended. Readings above 600m Osmols indicate that rehydration is advisable,and over 800m Osmols that it is essential. Osmocheck is a portable easy to use personal Osmometer to give an instant measure of dehydration - only a drop of urine is required for an instant readling. Osmocheck is a refractometer calibrated in mOsmols/kg H2O from 0 to 1500mOsmols - a reading of over 600mOsmols points to the start of dehydration and a reading of over 1000mOsmols is consistent with dehydration.
